Beats this time (synth is the previous post). Really digging how easy it is to stumble on something unexpected and interesting with this machine. Six heads plus varispeed mod equal endless possibilities, and the Binson solid state preamps just sound great with this. Ultra slo-mo beats courtesy of the CR-78 we just got ready and listed this week (running on one of Gid’s favourite weird preset combos...). Echorec will be up on the site tomorrow...

Binson Echorec EC 6 + Varispeed
Rare 6-head version of the EC 3. Low-use machine that sounds superb; the addition of varispeed to the 6 independently controllable heads makes this a powerful, versatile creative tool.
Serviced and brought up to excellent operating condition. Sounding really great - we'd say this machine has not had a huge amount of use - demos below.
These desktop versions of the Italian disc echo units were made in the 70s around the same time as the legendary PE models. This is a solid state (transistor) model – it is well made, reliable and versatile - as any of the six heads can be switched to replay or regeneration the user has access to a huge range of multiple and scatter echoes. Now we've added varispeed to this machine the possibilities are pretty much limitless.
Binsons do tend to encourage experimental noise-mongering. The Binson preamps have a great sound when pushed. The repeats are not hifi - this is after all 50 year-old technology - if you want perfect repeats, buy a digital delay.
Cosmetic condition is excellent with only a few scuffs to the top of the casing and woodwork.
There are currently no operational issues with this unit at all, but please be aware that these units require looking after and that regular use and maintenance is the key to keeping this in good working order. All our Binsons are supplied with full care instructions and aftercare from us as required.
Fresh demos of the actual machine for sale:
Just time for a quick dig into some of the possibilities of this 6 head solid state Echorec that we just completed work on. Synth first (beats to follow later) with some super-crunchy, acidic repeats bubbling up. The addition of a varispeed mod to the (literally) thousands of possible combinations of settings gives this machine almost limitless sound-warping possibilities. Listing this tomorrow, but if you want to know more email [email protected]
